Dreaming of Horses

From an early age I longed for a country life surrounded by pets and horses.  I would sit staring out of our busy city window and dream.

Mum's cheerful determination

My Mum who single-handedly raised me, worked hard and with such cheerful determination, taught me that anything is possible; work hard, have your dreams and the rest will follow.

Her  inspiration followed me into my career as a senior manager and into every area of my life and I kept my dreams. Then ouch, tragedy struck and the rug was pulled from under my feet.

New beginnings after the loss of a very close friend

I lost a very close friend, and although I was bewildered and lost I knew that to move forward my life somehow had to change. Thank God for dreams.

With the tireless support of my amazing husband I began the search for my country life and a less hectic job. Little did I know that the birth of Equisign was just around the corner.

I had my Stables but something was missing - I wanted Glitter!

Having re-settled, I had my stables, but something was missing. In my girlish dreams my horses had their names written in gold on sparkling rainbow colours. Then I had it, I needed an original, show-stoppingly fabulous, robust nameplate able to withstand all the knocks of a busy yard.

The plaque I wanted also had to be safe for children and pets, rustic, non-rusting, and I wanted it in my colour choice, with my wording and I wanted glitter.

The stable signs were rubbish

I began the search but found nothing that matched the bill. All I knew was that I didn't want second rate tat hanging on my stable door, my horses deserved better.

Frustrated by not finding what I wanted I emptied out our old garden shed, cleared the bench and set about making my own sign - my late father was a carpenter so it was in the blood.

Equisign was born

Mum was right, determination won the day. After a bit of trial and error I emerged from the shed, tired, dusty, paint splattered and triumphant. The first EQUISIGN was born.

More EQUISIGNS followed and it wasn't long before friends and family (and their friends and family) wanted their own bespoke creation!

Equisign's initial launch via ebay quickly built a growing reputation for excellent, personal service and a fast delivered spectacular product. This is reflected by positive customer feedback, samples are on the right.

Loved by adults and children alike, these signs quickly became a popular choice for a Wendy house, dads shed or the summerhouse.

We are proud to make signs for the Fairytale Falabella Miniature Horse Stud, Livery yards, a Derbyshire haulage business.

Two of our signs even feature at a Lincolnshire church owned by the National Trust!!
